Below ingredients make 1 cup of almond walnut milk.
- 15 almonds
- 2 tablespoons of walnuts
- a pinch of Saffron strands
- 1 tablespoon Sugar in the Raw
- 1/4 teaspoons of ground Cardamom
- 1.25 cups whole milk
HOW TO MAKE:
- Soak 15 almonds with skin in warm water until they have softened and you are able to remove the skin(somewhat, about 40 minutes) and the walnuts.
- Drain and rinse almonds and add to a blender with 4 Tablespoons of whole milk, 1 tablespoon of sugar, ¼ teaspoon of ground cardamom, and a couple saffron threads. Blend until smooth.
- Warm 1 cup whole milk in a medium saucepan over medium heat.
- Take 1 tablespoon of warm milk and add pinch of saffron and set aside.
- Add the blended almond/walnut mixture to the saucepan with the warm milk and bring to a boil over high heat, reduce heat to low, and simmer for about 15 minutes and almost comes to a boil, stirring frequently to prevent the milk from burning.
- Serve warm and garnish with a few strands of saffron, slivered pistachios and dried rose petals.
